View Full Version : TV Land really ramping up it's use of TAGS

First they knock MASH out of the 4:00-6:00 PM slot to expand TAGS to 4:00-800, and now they have expanded the morning slot from 3 to 4 episodes.

Hey, I think that it's great getting 12 episodes per day, but I hope they are not trying to burn it out before withdrawing it completely.

I particularly like it when they are running through season 1 in the afternoon segments and through season 5 in the morning segments...Gives you a chance to weigh differences that evolved.

Once I started watching shows commercial free it's a rough watch with seemingly endless commercials.

I wish that streaming was an option for me.

If I know TVLand, they are probably creating a new slot for Three's Company and Hot in Cleveland.

They will burn out TAGS and then claim viewership was down as an excuse to move on to newer programming.

Well, I'll say this. Now that they have both the morning block and evening block set in the same season, by airing 12 episodes per day they are really burning through the seasons quickly.

This is becoming more common with cable networks. It’s their version of binge watching. The Game Show Network used to show Steve Harvey Family Feud about six hours a day. Nickelodeon was doing that with Spongebob. I’m sure there are other examples.

TAGS episodes on TV Land are really butchered. Quite often, the epilogue is not show. I prefer watching TAGS on Me TV. Episodes are edited there as well, but not as much as on TV Land.

I was checking the TV Land schedule and I noticed starting today they are dropping the last hour of TAGS (7-8 pm EDT) and in its place will be another hour of Everyone Love Raymond.

I'm fortunate to live in a very Andy Griffith Show friendly area, all eight seasons are available at the public library.

No Mayberry RFD, so far, but I wouldn't be surprised if that isn't added one day.

Yeah, I'd love to be able to check out seasons 6-8 from our public library but haven't seen them there.

It looks like my local library has all 8 seasons of TAGS on DVD. I should pick up some of them sometime. It would be nice to see the episodes unedited.

Some libraries will take requests, especially with such almost universally beloved series such as the Andy Griffith Show.

I mean, who doesn't love me people of Mayberry?

I'm hoping my library will eventually add Mayberry RFD as well.

If what's in the subject line is the case, then MeTV needs to show the color seasons also! I've been able to rent season 7 and 8 from my library so am now watching those seasons.

Glad your library has them available.

Thanks! I hadn't even thought of finding them at the library till you mentioned it on the forum. I'm now up to S8 and started watching it last evening.

About time for me to take a run through the set again soon myself, been a couple of years.
