Since there's a similar poll for the Lost Girls, it's only fitting we have one for the Core Four as well.

Did Margie Peters pay you?? What's your favorite order? It's your own poll so you have to share! And I don't know how it is for others, but i'd think the order could be changeable depending on where you are in the series. I mean, I liked Jo second after Blair, but after seeing today's watch episode, she dropped a notch and Tootie snagged her place. And that Bronx tough act does get old after a while as well as that perpetually angry constipated face. I like how Tootie genuinely cares about all of them and especially how she was with Natalie when her Dad died. She really wanted to help because that's how she is...very perceptive to other people's feelings. Jo's starting to soften up in season 6 so hopefully that continues in the following seasons and she may move back up a notch. But Blair will ALWAYS be #1 for me, and Natalie always at the bottom. (Sorry Mindy!) :bash: But #2 & #3 for me can be interchangeable between Tootie & Jo depending on where in the series I am. '80sSitcoms 03-27-2020, 02:10 AM What's your favorite order? It's your own poll so you have to share!  Touché! Well, just of note, when I was a child first watching the syndicated daily re-runs of the classic era, my favorite was Tootie all the way! She was the youngest of the group, just like me! :baby: (me being the youngest in my family, I mean) So my order of favorites was TOOTIE (then-everybody-else) But now, as a grown contributing member of society, lol, my favorite of the Core Four is the ever-so-funny Blair, followed by Tootie, and then I guess Jo then Natalie. I do enjoy Natalie, but sometimes I can find her kind of obnoxious, and sometimes she seems more "distant" from the group than the others. I rank Jo a slot above because her "streets-to-school" story is quite interesting, and I do like how she (begrudgingly, lol) finds herself a part of this close-knit group, and rebuilds a relationship with her father. I don't, however, like when she gets too "high on her horse" or becomes unreasonable. And I don't know how it is for others, but i'd think the order could be changeable depending on where you are in the series. And that Bronx tough act does get old after a while Yes, it does. as well as that perpetually angry constipated face. You think those things get old, wait'll you binge the series sometime---by season 3 you are getting tired of seeing her Bronx ponytail and Natalie's extra long pigtails all the damn time. Out of the lost girls, she's the one I was most happy about getting fired :clap party: As for the main four, my list goes: Blair Jo Tootie Natalie I know the Nancy fanatics from years ago consider her the star of the show, but when rewatching the series it's very obvious Lisa is the star of the main 4. Blair had the most interactions with the girls and had just as many episodes each season centered on her. Out of all the girls, Blair is the only one this show could not do without. The only reason the character of Jo worked for fans is because of Blair. Blair brought out Jo's spunk a lot. There's noway Jo would have had the same success with fans if it wasn't for Blair to bounce off of. I also think Blair helped Jo grow a lot as the series went on. I agree with you about Molly and Blair as the star. Jo was probably the breakout character of the show, but not the star. My order is: -Blair -Natalie -Tootie -Jo I really don't like Jo and Tootie during the Eastland years. Jo was sometimes "aggressive", Tootie "childish". That's an interesting point and so true. I never thought of it that way, but the character of Jo does owe a lot to Blair. I think the same could fairly be true for Blair as well though. Before Jo came, Blair still was pretty much the star girl out of them all, but very shallow and snobby. Jo's presence showed us what was underneath that shallow facade. So both characters pretty much fed off each other. I like how most people have Blair as their #1 favorite in the poll! :) I'm eagerly waiting to see if someone dares to choose this one though: I don't really care for any of them  cfr1970 03-27-2020, 10:32 AM Many people would disagree with your assessment of Molly Ringwald as an actress since she is the wealthiest and had the most successful career of the main 8 Eastland girls. I remember when she was all over the place in the mid 80's and I honestly wondered why. She had zero appeal to me and seemed to play the same character in her films. Then once the 80's finished, she disappeared into oblivion. I have a vague recollection of a short sitcom she tried, I think it was early 90's? But that bombed and she disappeared again. More "Blair Buddies"! Oh, not only that, we voted the same for all 4! :rotflmao: :woohoo: If they had just softened Jo up after her first season I would've ranked her higher. After season 2, the tomboy tough act should've been put on the back burner and we should've seen how Eastland and the other girls were helping Jo's character evolve by then. She spent too many seasons scowling and snapping at everyone, and that godforsaken horse tail should've been taken away in season 3. She has a pretty face that looks much softer framed by her hair and with some makeup on to enhance her features. Making Jo as manly as they could did nothing good for poor Nancy M. I wonder if she finally got sick of it too and asked them to make her more feminine. I mean, that army outfit she wore in many episodes. puke:puke: I really like Natalie's hair in season 6. It's much more mature over those damn pigtails. Tootie losing her bowl cut was a major step up for her, and lifting the hair off the front of her face was a good choice. Her face is really pretty and she looks so much better with her hair more away from her face. And i'm glad someone else picked the same order as me! cfr1970 03-27-2020, 10:59 AM Molly Ringwald has been in two successful series since 2008. I'm not bashing her but just giving the impression I had her during her height of fame back in the 80's. If she's found newfound success in her middle age, that's great. I haven't seen either of those shows so I can't make an opinion of it. I can only share my view of her from when she first came on the scene. I'm sure she's improved a lot since then. I just personally never found her appealing. I don't know....she just comes off to me as being very distant and unapproachable. She's on a low rated series right now called Riverdale as Archie's mom. When Luke Perry died, I was expecting her to shed tears over his death like the rest of the cast. It was almost like she was forcing them out. I don't get the appeal over her either. And just because she starred in big screen movies doesn't mean she's a better actress. Look at all those people who are YouTube stars and make a money off social media. I wouldn't consider them better performers if they had more money than TV stars.
