View Full Version : Why did Blair and Jo return to that grungy coffee shop in “New York, New York”?

They knew from the previous “Prostitootie” episode that it was a hangout for pimps and hookers.

It looks the same but I think the one Blair & Jo sit in was at the Grand Central Station while the hooker diner was on some side street near the theaters where Tootie was supposed to meet the others. At least that's the impression I got.

Must have been the quality of the coffee.

Was it really all that grungy? I mean, there was a hair on the menu, but Jo took care of that.

Two other things to consider:

This may have supposed to have been a different coffee shop. Remember, Blair is disgusted with the place, as if she's never seen it before (and I think some set details might be different, like the pay phone location?)

If we look at the production guide, maybe this episode aired before the pimp one.

Also: Jo doesn't seem at all disgusted by grungy places. After all, the motel Eddie took her to had tire tracks on the bedsheet. Tire tracks! As if someone grabbed an old blanket on the side of the road, and then made up a motel bed with it!
