"Help i've fallen and I can't get up" Perhaps you may recall seeing the original commercial with Edith Fore the lady behind Life Alert who uttered the most famous catchphrase on the first Life Alert call system in the 80's. Life Alert was originally known as Lifecall when this commercial first aired. The real story behind this commercial was that Edith Fore was just getting ready to start her day when suddenly she fell down the stairs and hit her head and frantically called for help so she called Life Alert and little did she know that this call actually not only saved her life but turned her into a huge celebrity. Edith's daughter in law was proud of the job that Life Alert did that Life Alert was asked to use footage of Edith Fore to use in their commercials. And the former school nurse became a superstar by appearing in dozens of talk shows and magazine articles were written about her as well. Edith Fore passed away in the 90's but she will always be remembered as a commercial superstar. If you look at the commercials for Life Alert today in comparison to these classic commercials from the 80's they look different but soon paved the way for a line of emergency help devices that are sold today

I'm not sure how the original ads were, but the one they use today is absolutely cringe-worthy.

Hi Bestie! The old commercials were funny, but I saw a new one where a mother and daighter came to grandma's house to find her dead. That was too much for me. What do you think?

The cringe-worthy one is one where the woman is moaning and groaning in the background. They even say at the beginning you might be offended.
