Here is what you can do, if you *really* love me/us. :)

1. Buy another VCR
2. Buy lots of high-quality blank VHS tapes
3. Tape each episode, without the commercials.
4. Label all tapes according to show name and original air date
5. Wrap each one carefully for mailing
6. Ship them (for free to me/us) each Saturday morning
7. Repeat until all 209 episodes are complete

I don't think that's asking too much, is it?

  :happyface :D :happyface

Correct me if I'm wrong, but to get any channel don't you just have to contact your TV company and order it?

Well, I wish I could do that. I can't afford a VCR and a lot of tapes. I am in between jobs. I'm sorry.

My cable company just accepts requests. I asked them if I could get if I order. They didn't answer. I even emailed Hallmark!! If they don't answer, I'll have to call personally!:bash:

Well, it's an imperfect universe. We can only deal with what we have.

The important thing is that it is finally going to show again. And maybe it will get more respect this time.

You never know...With persistance, you all might get Hallmark. If not, well we've waited this long, whats a year? ... Forget I said that.

Um, some places in MA carry it. My town, for instance, gets it...and I always thought we had the worst cable company... ANYways, you are all invited here for a FOL party! How 'bout that? ;)

Yeah, I'll disregard that one. If it runs on Hallmark and then waits another year to return I'll be busy in college and probably to broke to afford cable or a VCR. Frightening though...

Since we are on the topic of DirecTV is it true that when you have DirecTV that you gotta pay extra for local channels?

Mr. Stefani

"Dad you've wanted Direct TV for a long time now right?"

"Yes"

"Are you gonna get it soon?"

"Maybe, why"

"Cause...um... FOL is on the Hallmark channel and it comes on July 1st..."

"I'm not getting it before that"

"But WHY!!!!!!!!!"

"I'm sick of you and FOL!"

And it ends there.

KS: Mom, dad, remember a few years ago when we got DirectTV but had to take it back because the dish didn't work.

Dad: Yeah...

Mom: Where are you going with this?

KS: Well, my birthday is soon and I was wondering if I could have Direct TV

Mom: I thought you wanted a car

KS: I do. A car and Direct TV

Dad: Isn't a car enough? What's on Direct TV?

KS: A car isn't enough when FOL is coming on Hallmark in a mater of days!

Dad: FOL?

KS: The Facts of Life

Mom: You have tapes...

KS: Not enough

Dad: Direct TV on top of a car?

Mom and Dad laugh

KS: Ugh, I'm going back to my hole. This isn't right!

Yep, that's about it...stinks.

That probably was your only mistake. That's no way to persuade parents. It's a bad idea to say that you can't understand something that you want.

The key is to get on your parents level. Tell them what they can get out of it. And don't mention Facts of Life. That will erase all the reasonable things you may have previously said.

They probably don't want to pay for it. So if you can donate anything, anything at all, your odds of getting it will increase.

We have the Hallmark Channel now but next month my parents want to get the cheap cable package to save on money and that package doesn't included the Hallmark channel and our cable company won't let you have a channel from the bigger cable package. SO this is my convo with my parents to try to save the Hallmark channel

Me: Mom Please don't get rid of cable there is so much other stuff you could cut back on to save money

Mom: Like the Internet

Me: No way (Can't go on Lisa's site or this site then)

Mom: Well it's not like I'm totally getting rid of the cable

Me: Ya but the facts of life is going to be on Hallmark Channel and we need the big cable package for that channel

Mom: Well are you going to help pay for the cable

Me: Well If I get a job yes

Mom: But you need that money for College
(I lost 5,000 dollars in my farmland stock becasue they went bankrupt those little punks)

Mom: And we can't afford the big cable package with all the other stuff we pay for so this is one of the things we have to learn to live without at least we'll still get some cable.

This isn't fair I mean we do get Hallmark but now that FOL is going to air there and they will probably show every ep probably even the first time ep and of course this has to happen geez what else could go wrong.

Well... I will definitely try to find someone to tape the episodes for me when they come around a second time. I will definitely pay for the tapes, compensate for your time, and even write a letter to your boss/teacher/parent excusing you from any activity when FOL is on. I really want the shows.

If someone is interested, let me know....
