This is one of my favorites and it played on Antenna TV today.

When the girls are painting the bedroom and Blair sits in the paint that Jo placed on the chair, you can see Lisa Whelchel start to laugh and try holding it back to stay in character before composing herself and going on. It's a fun scene to watch her almost lose it.

And her reply to Mrs. G after being told to wear old clothes...."But I don't have any old clothes!" is LOL funny, just the way she delivers the line and Mrs. G's glare back at her. :lol:

I'd say this is right on top as one of my favorites of the whole series.

It is definitely a hilarious, classic episode, for sure. The moment Mrs. G comes in, and they freeze may be the funniest moment of the series.

What's also great about this episode is that it keeps true to past events and timeline. We knew from when Jo stole the van the girls were only in that room together to pay for the damages and then released once it's paid up.

I like that they stayed true to that and then found a logical way for them to stay together another year in the room. The in fighting, separating to different dorms, and then the painting/playing scene was all realistic and not contrived. Now they had to pay for the painting damages and bunk for another season. It didn't seem falsely written just to keep them together.

And yes...the look on Mrs. G's face when she walks in the room is priceless. I love that whole episode....and also Blair's "I need puff" while doing her hair LOL.

The 'Four musketeers' is definitely the best episode from season 3! MRS G 'no nonsense' glare she gives to BLAIR, (when she says she doesn't have any old clothes) is priceless: you can see BLAIR flinch when she realizes she went too far, and that MRS G is not going to put up with her snobby behaviour hee hee hee!
And of course, the moment MRS G enters into the torn room to find her girls all over the floor, drained with paint is hilarious and the best!
This episode also highlights the friendship between the 4 girls and their closeness towards MRS G, and from then on they become forever the 'musketeers'!!!

Yes, a stand-out episode! And with that classic clip being the final moment of the opening theme---perfect (though Jo's face looks very much like a man's at the very end of that clip in the opening, lol).

I want to agree with you, but can I, really? I mean, would the stripping, revarnishing, and repainting really be all that much? To pay off over another year and a half, the same as the van damage?? I'm no Bob Villa so I have no idea. :lol: But I would hope so!

So split that to $250 for each girl and figure they earn $25/week working in the cafeteria....so 10 weeks tops to work off that bill. But in sitcom land that's about 1/2 a season. So let's up it to $2k and there's the whole year! :lol:

I figure 2 hrs a day working in the cafeteria at $3.10 would put it at about $25/week. And since they're children, probably no taxes taken out either. When I was 14, I had a paper route that paid something like $2 and change per hour and I got it all tax free---plus the tips of course.
