I read on a site two things
1. Mrs Garrett accepted a job as a nurse right before her departure with Bruce
2. Mrs Garrett, in the Reunion movie, accepted a job as a housekeeper at Blair's hotel and decides to stay permanently in America

I honestly don't remember

Yes, the registered nurse mention is such an interesting detail that I don't believe was ever looked at before or since! Fascinating.

I don't recall any mention of nursing before meeting Bruce.

Mrs. Garrett said that she was qualified to teach the Eastland sex education class because she was a registered nurse. Not sure why a registered nurse would work as a housekeeper.

I know. I said I didn't remember the Bruce mention (during the Over Our Heads era).

And yes, that is interesting how/why she became an RN, then became a housekeeper.

In the Interview episode she said that she drove a taxi...all these jobs and suddenly she became a housekeeper

That site (the link doesn't work) said that Mrs. G had accepted a job as a nurse for the Peace Corp just before her marriage with Bruce. In OOP they said that Bruce had accepted a two years commitment for the PC but they didn't mention Mrs. G's future. I only remember Bruce asking Edna to go back to Africa again because of the PC thing

Hmm, I always assumed she worked with Bruce in the Peace Corps!

I think MRS G became a housekeeper because she had no choice: she possibly had to give up her dream to have a career when she had to raise two sons by herself (remember her husband was a gamble and she kicked him out of her life?):lol::lol:
Well, after that she took whatever job was available, until she ended up as a housekeeper at the DRUMMONDS and destiny took a turn, and she 'accidentally' became the housemother at KIMBERLY's school, and then her life changed drastically....:happyface

In real life, Charlotte's life often paralleled Mrs. Garrett. Charlotte had two sons. She was divorced, not because her husband was a gambler, but he was a bisexual who wanted an open relationship. She also came from Appleton, Wisconsin and had a sister named Beverly Anne like Mrs. Garrett.
