Like many in the 1970's, I'm familiar with the kids show "New Zoo Revue." When the show premiered in syndication in 1972, I thought it looked interesting. Unfortunately, this also came out at a time when I was not only growing out of many kiddie shows, but started to despise them. I also began to despise Romper Room, but that's another story.

A lot of kids liked it. I wasn't one of them. There is such a thing as too squeaky clean. I wouldn't be surprised if even the Disney Channel wouldn't be able to tolerate it.

Having said all that, every now and then I've seen a few posts in blogs where people say they were turned on by Emily Peden, who played Doug's helper Emmy Jo, and became his wife in real life. I have to admit, she was an attractive young woman. But the whole vibe of the show really used to turn me off, even to her. This is kind of why I feel confused about her.

The one thing I do like, are those YouTube videos of those salacious behind the scenes antics between takes, which I believe were revealed to the public before YouTube existed.

I love that show. I havent seen it in probably 20 years...
