I'm glad they did: season 1 might have been great, but the singing was horrible!
The opening theme song on season 2 was great on the other hand and very powerful!

I liked the season 1 theme, Charlotte wasn’t the best singer though so I’m glad she didn’t sing in the intro anymore

Probably they wanted to change everything on the show after season 1. The set changed, the cast changed, characters changed and the opening theme changed too (except for the when the world never seems line)

I know Charlotte wasn't the best singer on the Earth but we appreciate the song for what it is:lol::lol::lol:

Yeah, it wasn't just the lyrics, they changed most of the music! :guitar: :drummer:

And Charlotte could sing. Maybe she was just singing "funnier" for the theme song to be cute and adorable as an "eccentric great-aunt/grandmother" type, lol.

I thought CHARLOTTE RAE sang quite well on the Xmas episode from season 6 (she was more of an opera kind of singer than pop though) but she was definitely a much better actress hee hee!

Almost anything beats Nancy M.'s singing.

Charlotte definitely could sing, as we've seen from songs on her albums (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKc9AeuFey4). But she was singing the way her kooky DS maid character, Mrs. Garrett, would sing. I have no doubt that how she sang the FOL theme song was exactly how the producers wanted her to sing it.

What do you mean? She was a soloist on Songs I Taught My Mother, but she also sang on The Threepenny Opera (https://www.discogs.com/Lotte-Lenya-Scott-Merrill-Martin-Wolfson-Jo-Sullivan-2-Charlotte-Rae-Beatrice-Arthur-George-Tyne-Sam/master/1350526
), The Littlest Revue (https://www.discogs.com/Various-The-Littlest-Revue-Original-Cast-Recording/master/651424), and also appeared on The Songs of Rodgers and Hart (https://www.discogs.com/Various-The-Songs-Of-Rodgers-Hart/release/7493487) and Rodgers and Hart Revisited (https://www.discogs.com/Ben-Bagley-And-Michael-McWhinney-Rodgers-and-Hart-Revisited/master/1003527).

Yes, her only album. Of course she was "a soloist", since she was the only one on it, lol. ;) :p

I mean she only released one album. The others aren't "her" albums, they're cast albums she was a part of. They emphasized on "Collector's Call" that SITMM was her only album.
