In the beginning, Fonzie was a much cooler character, much more subtle. He didn't say a lot and when he did, it was in a very cool and measured voice.

Flash forward ten years to the 11th and final season and the character is considerably different: Louder, way over the top, and even nerdy. The character by this point was pretty much played out and was running on fumes.

I have a theory that in a parallel universe, First Season Fonzie would time travel ten years into the future, meet Final Season Fonzie, and kick his butt. Probably with little or no dialogue.

Again, just a theory based on my own opinion.
