The Facts of Life was a female-centric spinoff of the popular show Diff'rent Strokes and its authentic stories, great characters and unforgettable theme song made The Facts of Life a culture touchstone and staple in living rooms across America for nine seasons. In The Facts of Life: Behind Closed Doors viewers get an inside look at the show that gave audiences a glimpse into the adolescent struggles and triumphs of boarding school girls all under the loving care of housemother Edna Garrett. Mr. Bradley and Geri Jewell appear as well. I never seen anything from the Core Four or later seasons cast members that they are on it. This is definitely something for First Season fans and fans of the Lost Girls.

Sad to see we won't be hearing from Molly, but I'm not surprised. Getting to see Julie Anne, Julie Pie, and Felice all at the same time is a rare treat: one we haven't seen since "The Little Chill".

Gosh, i really miss the old season 1 gang: MISS MAHONEY, MR BRADLEY and the LOST GIRLS, and i don't think i'll ever get over them being kicked out by season 2! they're the ones that kept the show going with their hilarious dialogues and acting lol!:wave:

For me, it is the combination of the loss of the original characters, and gradual diminishment of Mrs. Garrett, which killed the show. I wanted to see Molly, Nancy, Cindy, and Sue Ann graduate alongside Natalie, Jo, and Blair. I wanted to see more of Mrs. Garrett's catering years. I didn't need to see random added characters like Kelly, Andy, Pippa, George, and Beverly Ann. The show was about a housemother and her girls. They killed that. Fine. A dietician and her girls. They killed that. A caterer and her girls. They killed that. A Spencers' rip-off store. They killed that. An Australian girl, the housemother's sister, and a random kid hang out with a few of the original characters in the place that was once a shop. That's... a bad spin-off. :lol:

Good point, Valentina! I'm doing a rewatching and seasons 6-7 are so strange without Mrs.G. Tomorrow I will start season 8 but I miss the old cast so much! And believe me, season 7 is a lot more painful than the sixth

Really? I agree with you (although I didn't saw it), probably it would have been better a two part episode, you can't talk about CR's career in only 30 minutes

In one of the documentaries she is clearly relieved when she says "Thank GOD I wasn't a part of that!" and something about she wouldn't have had any idea who she would choose to stay and who would leave.

Mindy and Nancy are different. Mindy was before the show started, and she didn't bring her on herself; she thought Mindy would be a good idea, and the producers agreed and allowed it. And with Nancy, NBC saw her first and then I guess they asked Charlotte's opinion of what she thought of her, so they considered Charlotte's professional input on what she thought of NBC's choice.

I don’t mean she was happy to let the actors go, but she was the star of the show, and I think she had more input than she let on.

I'll have to agree with you on that one: CHARLOTTE RAE had too much of a good chemistry with all her co stars (Lost girls and core of four + headmaster) to have anything to do with them being fired!:wave:

It’s just my opinion, and it’s nothing but heresy. :)
