It is kind of funny as Fred and Lamont probably got chuckle by doing this. Like the name "Fred Sanford" is Redd Foxx's real brother name.

The show should have a disclaimer like the movies does at end of credits saying, "Although events depicted in this show are fictional, yet any similarity to any person living or dead might not be coincidental." :D
