Now why a duck wants to be dry, that's another question.... treky 02-24-2020, 05:15 PM Even pantsless, he still wants to be dry. Of course it doesn't explain why he did so before Daisy? MrCleveland 02-27-2020, 01:31 PM ...and on the subject... Why does Donald Duck cover the area that's NOT covered everytime we see him naked? https://i1.wp.com/www.the-american-catholic.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/main-qimg-897956711a31d200155e6bb883596808.jpg?resize=276%2C300&ssl=1 Am I Missing Something? Furienna 03-04-2020, 03:12 PM Donald is pretty much 50 % a duck, who has no problem with being nude, and 50 % a human, who feels a need to always be decent. Or if we put it this way: Donald will mostly have no need to cover his lower body, since he's a cartoon animal. But he must also act like a human to a large degree, so we can relate to him. And we humans will wear bathing suits and cover ourselves with towels, so he will do so too when it suits the story. Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck must share the only shirt and pants they had....Mickey got the pants and Donald got the shirt. Now, if we could just figure out WHY Superman wears his underwear over his costume? MrCleveland 03-05-2020, 05:18 PM Now that I think about... So...this pic may be accurate... https://pbs.twimg.com/media/ESHJTZ1X0AEz5cC?format=jpg&name=medium If I made a story about this...Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck are down-and-out performers. They get a position at Disney and the requirement was "to wear at least shirt or pants". With the money that they have, they saw a shirt and shorts combo for half-off...but since they didn't have much money...Mickey and Donald split the clothes. Yes, those red pants with the yellow buttons is his iconic outfit. And still, you don't see him wearing them in the classic shorts made between 1946 and 1953 for example. Now, if we could just figure out WHY Superman wears his underwear over his costume? That is not underwear, but rather a part of the outfit worn by "strong man" circus performers. Thanks Furienna for pointing all of this out. I guess I never paid much attention to Mickey in his earlier days..... as for Superman... I really did think it was his underwear. (I remember when I was young dressing with my underwear overtop of my pants - just around the house though) :o |
