Why do they have this show set in NYC? It makes no sense at all. It would make more sense if set in San Franciso, Seattle, or a Chicago suburb.

Can you give reasons why?

Here are some reasons it should be in NYC.

Central Perk
Joey and his Soap Opera
Monica's Restaurant
The Museum That Ross Works In...(or used to work in)
Rachel's Job Working At Ralph Lauren

The stuff you mentioned is in almost every city, except for maybe the soap opera.

Isn't Days Of Our Lives filmed in L.A anyway. Doesn't make sense that Joey could be on a show when it doesn't film in New York.

I realise a lot of the Soap Operas are filmed in New York, but I am more than sure Days isn't.

Also what difference does it make where it is set. When Friends started it was like a trend, most of the Thursday night line up on NBC was set in New York. Mad About You and Seinfeld then later Caroline In The City, Will & Grace and so on.

Yeah, why doesn't it make sense to have yuppies living in NYC? There are tons of yuppies there.
