I thought there was one key illogical part in this ep, but don’t want to be a “spoiler” and mention it just yet, in case no one here has watched it.
I personally think it’s one of the best eps in S1 & even overall. If you want to watch it, you can find it on You Tube. I recommend it!
If someone (or others) has already seen the ep, would love to discuss it.

One of mine too-that’s why I picked it. But once one class discovers the “secret” to acing the Scavenger Hunt, the secret could just be passed on to the next class. An unrealistic episode in that respect.

I think this was the last CBS episode, and it's my favorite. Everyone fighting to find and hoard obscure cases, the professors complaining about Kingsfield, and not knowing he is within earshot and hearing the whole thing. I haven't seen it in quite awhile, but IIRC he prances out right in front of them.

And he rattles his tea/coffee cup down too, to let them know he heard it all.
Of course best student Hart discovers what Kingsfield really wants them to do....make contracts with each other! But then...wouldn’t this secret leak out to future Kingsfield students? This is where the eco had a flaw- but it was still a fun ep nonetheless.
(And now you know what not to answer for the wrong answer game!)
