The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum told ABC News that she's been keeping her diagnosis secret for the past year, even as she filmed the BH90210 revival series. In 2017, Doherty announced her breast cancer, which was first diagnosed in 2015, had gone into remission. "I don't think that I've processed it," said Doherty. "It's a bitter pill to swallow in a lot of ways. I definitely have days where I say, ‘Why me?' And then I go, ‘Well why not me? Who else? Who else beside me deserves this?' None of us do. I would say that my first reaction is always concern about how am I going to tell my mom, my husband."

In court documents obtained by E! The lawsuit also alleges that Doherty has been forced to pay out of pocket costs for necessary repairs to her home and to her belongings after they were damaged during the Woolsey Fire in 2018.
