It occurs to me - but I've never seen it referenced elsewhere - - that Jeannie's personality and actions bore more than a passing resemblance to Tinker Bell (as portrayed in Walt Disney's animated classic).
She was mellow and loving until riled or jealous, then went into a spiteful single-minded rage, followed by thoughtless vengeance, and eventually a turnaround and remorse.
She was also always hiding in small spaces and spying on people, amusing herself with tricks, and acting entirely on impulse.
Was there a conscious connection or pure (delightful) happenstance?
