After Mrs Garrett left the show I noticed she was mentioned in Up from Down Under and Something in Common episodes. Were there any more mentions?

Only because they talked to her mother who said "Molly was very busy." That was a polite way for Molly's never seen mother of telling her former classmates "Molly is doing bigger and better things now and she doesn't want to talk to you peasants".

I wouldn't say "only because"---they remembered her and cared about where she was.

If I recall, there were more mentions than just three. Though I couldn't say what any others were at this point in time. :)

In syndication, the mention of Molly is cut out.

I remember reading at this board almost 20 years ago (!) ---long before the DVDs, mind you---where a poster was adamant they remembered Tootie saying she called Molly but her mom said she was too busy, but it was never played in syndication copies. I'm so glad it's there now! :)

Yes. Outside of when this episode originally aired, I don't think I've ever seen the full version, with the Molly line.

I've never understood why this line would be cut, anyway. It's not like it takes up so much time that an extra commercial could be fit in, so there's no financial motivation to trim it.

I just assume they weren't thinking of the "charter fans" and figured, eh, why leave a mention of a girl in who's not there?

Or else the syndication editors were really young and had no idea who the "Molly" they mention even was!
