I mean even when Just the Ten of Us was originally on, she was arguably the most famous or recognizable cast member (https://www.horrorsociety.com/2012/07/13/where-are-they-now-heather-langenkamp/) (in general not just among the Lubbock kids) due to her "Scream Queen" status from the Nightmare on Elm Street (https://ew.com/article/2011/07/29/nightmare-elm-street-whatever-happened-nancy/) franchise. I've read elsewhere that Heather was an actress who had nice, refreshing quality to herself. Basically, she seemed like a girl that you'd actually live down the street from or go to high school with. Was at least part of the problem for why she didn't get more higher profile roles following Elm Street and JT10OU is because she may not have been "vampy enough" to be a leading lady?

I read that Heather had a stalker (https://dailydead.com/heathers-of-horror-a-tribute-to-heather-langenkamp-in-the-nightmare-on-elm-street-film-series/) while she was on Just the 10 of Us. It made her retreat from show biz and move away for a while. The treatment for New Nightmare (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wes_Craven%27s_New_Nightmare) was loosely based (https://www.reddit.com/r/horror/comments/1yqmag/hello_reddit_heather_langenkamp_here_ama/) on her stalker situation.
