A fifth hour of Today is being considered that would likely start after the current 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. block. “There are no imminent plans for it,” NBC News president Noah Oppenheim tells Variety. “I don’t want to overstate the likelihood of it happening.”

4 Hours of Today Show is enough for right now because it’s impossible for the 5th Hour to occur.

I wish the games shows would fill some morning time. Decades ago, it was soap operas, game shows, some talk shows ( I do remember Virginia Grahams- Girl Talk show) Mike Douglas, Dick Cavett. I am thinking back about 40 to 60 years. Then in the early morning it was Captain Kangeroo but was he only on weekends? I think 4-5 hours of the same news talk type show is too much. I want more variety.

That's interfering with the 12pm news on the eastcoast

They'd have trouble prying that time away. Virtually all affiliates would have contracted shows at 11 am ET.
