Character actor Bill Camp, of HBO's The Outsider, has been chosen as the new narrator of Forensic Files. He also appeared in a number of movies, including Reversal of Fortune, Black Mass, and Joker. The new season of FF begins on HLN on Sunday, February, 23 at 10:00 pm (EST).

Terrific actor. Turned in a great portrayal of Brian Wilson's father, Murray, in LOVE & MERCY. And like mentioned, he was REVERSAL OF FORTUNE (great forgotten film!!) and most recently a cop in JOKER.

Bill Camp also plays Howard Salomon in the HBO series The Outsider and narrated a cable documentary series call Quest for the Stanley Cup. In addition, he grew up in Groton, Massachusetts, so he's from my home state. So far, not surprisingly, his narrating performance on Forensic Files has gotten a mixed reception from fans of the series. Although some viewers have warmed up to him, others have not.

Series creator/executive producer Paul Dowling was recently interviewed. By his own admission, for several years he rejected calls to revive the series. He cited the death of Peter Thomas in 2016 as one of the reasons for not wanting to put it back in production, and understandably so. But he reconsidered when he learned that Vince Sherry, senior producer of the original series, would still be involved, albeit as a supervising producer.
