With Molly Ephraim being replaced (https://tvline.com/2018/07/02/last-man-standing-molly-ephraim-season-7-mandy-recast/) by Molly McCook, it's pretty easy to chalk if up to the one and a half year hiatus from when ABC cancelled it to when Fox picked it up. Presumably, Molly Ephraim went off to get other work (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1454378/) (she was recently in The Front Runner (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQWveQZaEQM) with Hugh Jackman and guest starred on Modern Family).

But it's still not made entirely clear for why Alexandra Krosney (the first Kristen) was replaced by Amanda Fuller. The traditional catch-22 was that it was due to "creative differences" (https://moviechat.org/tt1828327/Last-Man-Standing/5bb006a9e7b79b0014f08ecb/Amanda-Fuller-vs-Molly-McCook). I'm not trying to imply that Alexandra herself is really the problem, but it's interesting to note that she was originally supposed to be a cast member on the CW show iZombie, but was replaced by Aly Michalka (https://www.superherohype.com/news/311915-aly-michalka-replaces-alexandra-krosney-on-the-cws-izombie) before the series finally made it to air.

I don't remember ... is it possible she didn't get on with the star/producers?

The person that I feel the most bad for is the second boy who played Boyd. I will never get why he was replaced. I don't have anything against Jet, but to me, there wasn't a thing wrong with Flynn.

God bless you and him and Jet always!!!

I said elsewhere that my best guess was that Tim Allen had plans to "revamp" to show into kind of a modern day All in the Family with his eldest daughter and her "baby's daddy" being the Gloria and Mike to his Archie (albeit as more sympathetic conservative instead of somebody whom we're suppose to "laugh at" instead of with). Maybe they got rid of Alexandra Krosney because she felt that she didn't sign up to essentially be little more than a straw-woman of sorts to Tim Allen's anti-liberal, Republican character.
