This has been falsely reported. According to those close to her, Julie Strain is still alive. You can delete this thread, James.

That's sad. She had been battling with dementia over the years.

It's still newsworthy so I'm keeping the thread up. Glad to hear that she has not passed.

I haven't been on as much lately, been sick for the past 2 days.

Sorry to hear that, and I hope you feel better soon.

I think I first became aware of who she was when I watched the sequel to Heavy Metal, Heavy Metal 2000 when it was first released. It was co-written by her then husband Kevin Eastman (co-creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). Julie voiced the lead character.

After learning who she was I realized I had been seeing her in films through out the 90's, including The Unnamable II, and small parts in Beverly Hills Cop III, and Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult. And the Sidaris films that popped up on late night cable back then, including Enemy Gold and The Dallas Connection.

I haven’t seen her death announced anywhere except on social media postings. The link you gave shows something foreign.

I'm sorry then. All I could find was that foreign article and Facebook.

It was around this time last year that her false death reports came around, so I'm waiting to see something official.

I'm not really counting these blogging sites.

I still haven't seen anything more "official" from sites like PEOPLE, The Hollywood Reporter, etc.

There might not be a mainstream source, if ever.

I saw that Heavy Metal confirmed it, also. It's been said on her Facebook memorials that she may not get a press release since she has been out of "the business" for a long time.

I mailed her around 2014 and she sent me a signed copy of Witchcraft IV which I didn't ask for. She was very nice to do that.

Just ordered the early 2000s horror film Delta Delta Die on DVD, which featured Julie Strain, alongside Brinke Stevens and Tiffany Shepis, have not seen it since it first came out.
The extras on the DVD I remember from when I rented it, mainly the home movies with Strain and her younger sister.

I forgot about the Heavy Metal source, and I'm sorry.
