From time to time, I've been hearing some things about how "Show X" is "not compatible" with "Show Y", and the ratings for "Show Y" can even fall below the ratings of "Show X" because of it. And why is any alleged "Compatibility" a problem on U.S. Broadcast TV? Timeslots are limited. Maybe, in turn, it's because a network has an abundance of hit shows. I think another reason for any possible "non-compatibility" is because "Show X" and "Show Y" may have extremely different premises. Other than that, I can't come up with any other reasons myself. Anyway, as a result of that "non-compatibility", "Show Y" is either moved to a different timeslot, or cancelled outright.
