S1 - Ep 14 is the Original "Cannonball Christmas"
then
S4 - Ep 13 "The Santa Claus Special"
They use MANY scenes from the 1st, that was aired in Black & White, re-used in the second one BUT now shown in Color.
Same Story BUT patched together with the new actors as needed, and the original actors re-acting in some scenes BUT 3 years later in the same cloths as necessary.
Enough to make your head spin !

They re-did the same story for the color version as the b/w version. Some of the actors had changed by the time the color version came along, Ebb replaced the original grocer clerk, hot brunette girl (never can remember her name, neither character or real name, but she's definitely hot) she replaced the first blonde chick who played the blonde sister.
But the color version was re-filmed with slight changes, there was no such thing as colorization back then. But they could tint a whole b/w picture. They did tint the original b/w footage of the daytime train taveling down the tracks scene green though. The ending was just the original b/w used over again, not even bothering to tint it, I'd have tinted the end night train scene red, but they just reused the original b/w night train scene. Same story a little re-used footage but mainly re-done fresh in color.

They knew even back in 1967 that the B&W episodes wouldn’t be rerun as much, and they wanted a color Christmas episode. Definitely an oddity, but fun to watch both versions. It did help us to see that Pat Woodell (Bobbie Jo #1) had a much better voice than Meredith MacRae (Billie Jo #3).
