Even today there seems to be plenty who don't play instruments and if they know let's say guitar, often a man is playing for them.

For sometime I've looked over some YouTube artists which are actually pretty good and while I have come across some who do play guitar regularly I've watch some who have some guy doing it for them inspite knowing how to play.

Some of them have opening doubted themselves as being good at guitar

Matter of fact I saw an interview with one of last year's AI contestant Laine Hardy who was approached by Ashton (forgot her last name) wanted him to play guitar for her because she wasn't comfortable with playing.

I would have told her "Get a grip on it."

Well because singing is what singers are known for more, how much attention exactly should they give whatever instrument it is that they know how to play no matter what their gender is? Take Taylor Swift for example. She is known for her voice and her songwriting and then the talent that she possesses where instruments are concerned would be the next thing I guess.

God bless you and Taylor always!!!

Obviously you don't understand my question or you're just foolish.

I mean if they are not comfortable with it then why not use someone that is an expert at a certain instrument then instead playing it themselves if they are just average. At the level you seem to be talking about these performers are performing to people who are either judging them to further there careers or to people who are paying a lot of money to see them in concert. So why not give them the best quality and the best performers and if that is a different guitarist or keyboardist that so what the show will be that much better because of that.

I have been playing the guitar since I was 9 years old and now I am 15. I am no where near great at it but can play songs and it is not going to be my career or anything but if it was I would want the best musicians in any project I was doing.

I do apologize if I have misunderstood. Some may just not want to be known for whatever instrument playing talent it is that they possess. One of my most favorite female singers, Alison Krauss, of course is no stranger to playing something, but her fiddle playing will never be what she is most known for. Another of my favorite female singers, Tanya Tucker, is no stranger to the guitar, but for the most part, she leaves that up to another person who is on the stage with her. At the moment this is the only video of her that I am aware of where we get to see her with a guitar in her hands.

Holly (a fan of Miss T since 1991)You mentioned an artist Alison Krauss who does play the fiddle and very well but she is more well known for having one of the best female voices around. I guarantee you though if she had a song or performance and she could use a fiddle player such as Lindsey Stirling on it she would as musicians want the top performers involved with there projects.

^^^ I've been a fan of Alison for over 25 years now and one thing that I have learned about her is that she doesn't say "No." to anyone. If Lindsey wants a musical collaboration with Alison, all that she has to do is ask. :) :) :)

God bless you and Alison and Lindsey always!!!

HollyThank You, I really don't know much of Alison Krauss music but I do know she has an amazing voice. I have heard some of what Lindsey Stirling has done and I think she is amazing but I am a 15 year old kid who listens to music that most kids my age don't like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and other 60's music. I was born into this world in 2004 but live like it is the 60's. :)

^^^ My two most favorite late singers got their starts in the 1960s. I love Billy Joe Royal who scored his first top ten in 1965 with a song named "Down In The Boondocks" and I love Steve Sanders who was a solo act at first in the gospel music field from 1966 to 1971. From 1987 to 1995 his musical presence was in the four member act named the Oak Ridge Boys.

God bless you and those who have loved my late favorites longer than me always!!!

Holly (forever wishing that I had discovered them sooner)

What in the heck are you talking about? Right off the top of my head I can name several female guitar players! :)

Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Joan Jett ( wow three women named Joan/Joni), Ann or Nancy Wilson from Heart , can't remember which one played the guitar? Or did both of them? , And Karen Carpenter played the drums ! There are many more , these are the few that come to mind right now! ;)

Not at all really. I know that Alison Krauss has an amazing voice but haven't a clue of any songs she sings and have seen on TV and Dancing with the Stars Lindsey Stirling and think she is freaking amazing. I just also choose to like 60's music and like the Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Who but really wish I knew a lot more about that sort of stuff.

I've made it clear that I never said there aren't women who don't.

So obviously you are a stupid person.

You are such a rude, tactless DOUCHE

BTW, neither of them said that you said there are no women instrument players. So you obviously can't follow this conversation.;)
