"Reno 911!" Revival Gets Green Light at Quibi

"Reno 911!" is making a comeback. Quibi has given a green light to a seventh season of the beloved comedy series from Comedy Central Productions.

Creators and stars Robert Ben Garant, Kerri Kenney-Silver and Thomas Lennon all are attached to write and headline the revival. Peter Principato of Artists First will executive produce the series along with Danny DeVito, Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher of Jersey Television.

Additional casting will be announced at a later date.




“Reno 911! holds a special place in our hearts, and it will be a delight to get the original cast back together for ‘re-boot goofin.’ Hopefully Nick Swardson can still roller skate,” said Thomas Lennon, writer and star.

“Quibi’s short format seems custom made for our show.”

Quibi and Comedy Central Productions have set additional castings for "Reno 911!", starring co-creators Robert Ben Garant, Thomas Lennon, and Kerri Kenney-Silver.

They are now joined by Niecy Nash, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Cedric Yarbrough, and Carlos Alazraqui. Ian Roberts, Joe LoTruglio and Mary Birdsong will all be featured.

"Just have a couple and then yeah, you'll feel a little sick," Lennon jokes to Newsweek of Reno 911!'s premiere Monday on the shortform streaming service. "We're a sketch show," says fellow co-creator and co-star Ben Garant. "It was a perfect place for us when they pitched us 'short things.'" Lennon says the Quibi episodes are better because of their short length. "They never overstay their welcome," he says. "They're just like, get in, hit hard and get out!"
