Hi.

I am looking for several VHS tapes of Reading Rainbow episodes that contain the original classic version of the theme song. I am specifically looking for VHS tapes with one episode each on them. As some or all of you might know, certain VHS tapes of Reading Rainbow were released that contained 2 episodes on them. I am not looking for those.

Here is a list of some episodes I am looking for. I will list 6-10 at a time.

Ty's One-Man Band
Simon's Book
The Patchwork Quilt
The Tortoise and the Hare
Watch The Stars Come Out

Out of curiosity and what not. Does the newer Amazon captures not contain the original music?

What do you mean, the new Amazon captures? If it's their Prime Video service you're talking about, I just checked one of the episodes and it had the newer version of the theme song, not the classic one.

You see, when the newer theme song was recorded, the entire library of Reading Rainbow episodes, including old and new episodes were updated to include that new intro and new outro with the updated version of the theme song. Also, all the VHS tapes that were released by GPN, with the classic version of the theme song were rereleased by GPN in the early 2000s with the new version of the theme song. In addition, all episodes were released on dvd by GPN around the same time. They also contain the new version of the theme song.
