I haven't noticed if anyone started a thread on this, first a fast back story for those younger than myself.
Since the dawn of television, especially when TV stations use to sign off around midnight in the 50's, then by the 70's most local independent stations would stay on till near 2AM, I remember in 1983 WKBS-TV48 Philadelphia would sign off after their 11:30PM Late Movie.
When a station would sign off or on even just for a few hours the National Anthem would be played.
Currently in the New York Metro area WCBS Channel 2 is playing a full 90 second National Anthem sung by a girl approx 15 years old with a stunning voice with photography of beautiful American landscapes but it is tailored with many New York area landmarks.
The Anthem always precedes the local news, weekdays at 4:30AM and weekends at 6:00AM.
Was curious is this exclusive to New York or is it being shown on other CBS affliates?
I find it a nice throw back to the classic days of television viewing.
