I know that both Nell Carter and Joey Lawrence were on GAB...but Nell carter made a cameo on the short-lived TV Show Brotherly Love which had all the Lawrence Brothers.

BUT...

Why wasn't there an ep of Hangin' With Mr. Cooper with Joey Lawrence as a cameo or an ep of Blossom with Nell Carter as a cameo? I think Nell Carter would've said a GREAT WHOA! on that show!

Could it be schedule conflicts? I also thought it would've been interesting that Nell Carter would've made a cameo in Family Matters since it had Telma Hopkins and Rosetta LeNoire...because what I heard is that Nell Carter liked the cast of GAB....

Carter had a short lived sitcom that aired in Fall 1990 on CBS titled 'You Take The Kids' which was supposed to be the black version of Roseanne but it only lasted 4 or 5 weeks before it was pulled. She also did a cameo on 227 as an opera singer in Fall 1989 so with GAB's cancelation in 1987, she had the time. I think it was more on producers than anything as Hopkins and LeNoire were not decision makers on the show but actresses even though Hopkins pulled LeNoire to sign her contract on the show. It was stated on the Family Matters reunion that LeNoire was burned out from sitcoms on just using her as the 'old lady' as someone's mother or wife with no real substance. She was a true grandmother on Family Matters and was given depth in her character
