Title: Edward Goes To The Exhibition

Scene 1:

(Edward enters through the front door humming to himself. He walks over to the fruit bowl, picks up an orange and tosses it up and catches it. Dexter walks up to Edward.)

Dexter: Edward, are you all set for the exhibition?

Edward: You bet! I even went to the grocery store to pick up some extra snacks for a picnic later.

(Edward holds up package of gummy bears.)

Dexter: Narly! I wonder if Kate, Alfonso and Rick will be ready soon so we can get going.

(Kate walks into kitchen with purse over her shoulder.)

Kate: Edward, would you finish packing the picnic food? I'm going outside to start the car.

Edward: Sure, Kate.

(Kate exits out of kitchen. Edward and Dexter start packing the rest of the food into a cooler. Rick and Alfonso enter kitchen with water pistols.)

Edward: Could I have a water pistol? Please, please, please.

Alfonso: I would give you my water pistol, but you would probably make a fool of yourself.

Rick: Yeah. Dad, isn't it time you grew up?

Edward: Oh, I don't know. I never seem to find the time to do such a thing.

(Kate enters into kitchen.)

Kate: Okay, is everyone all set?

Dexter: We sure are! (picks up cooler) Lets' roll!

(Dexter, Kate, Edward, Rick and Alfonso all exit out of kitchen.)


Scene 2:

(Edward, Kate, Dexter, Alfonso and Rick walk around exhibition grounds. Edward is eating cotton candy.)

Edward: Hey! (tugs Kates' arm) Lets' go on the rollercoaster!

Kate: Okay. I think there's one up ahead.

Edward: No! The caterpillar one! (points to a roller coaster that is in the shape of a caterpillar) Please!

Kate: But, Edward, this is Kiddy Land. Lets' go on the scarier rides.

Edward: Please! Please! (Edward stomps his feet.)

Dexter: I'll go on the caterpillar roller coaster with you, Edward.

Edward: Yay! (jumps up and down joyously)

(Dexter and Edward line up for the ride.)

Alfonso: Look, a breakdancing competition! (points to sign) If anyone needs me, I'll be at the Disco Dance building.

(Alfonso runs off. Kate and Rick look at Dexter and Edward and roll their eyes. The ride starts up.)

Edward: Kate, this ride is fun. You should have gone on this one.

Kate: Thanks. I'll pass.

(Kate and Rick watch Edward and Dexter scream their heads off. The ride stops and Edward and Dexter get off.)

Dexter: That was the most fun I've had in a long time.

Edward: You should come here more often. I come here every year.

Dexter: I'll be sure to come next year. (looks around) Hey, where's Alfonso?

Rick: He went to the breakdance competition at the Disco Dance building.

Edward: Narly!

Dexter: Lets' go watch.

(Kate, Rick, Dexter and Edward walk to the Disco Dance building and sit down in seats.)

(Alfonso gets on stage. Begins dancing, then does a head spin. He finishes his act with the worm and then bows and goes off the stage. Audience cheers.)

Scene 3:

(Kate, Edward, Dexter, Rick and Alfonso walk around exhibition grounds.)

Edward: You know what I haven't done yet today?

Kate: Don't say bungee jumping. Anything, but that.

Edward: No, I mean a game.

(Edward points to a game where bottles are lined up along a table. Edward runs up to the table.)

Edward: Three rings, please. (puts down three tokens)

Instructor: Certainly, Sir! (taking tokens off table) Good luck!

(Edward throws all three rings perfectly around each bottle.)

Kate: Whooo! (claps her hands)

Instructor: Congratulations, Sir! (hands Edward a stuffed Jaguar)

Edward: Thankyou. (turns to Kate) Kate, look what I won!

Kate: Oh, wow! That's wonderful, Edward!

Dexter: Oh, lord! (rolls his eyes)

Alfonso: Rick, your father gets stranger by the minute.

(Rick nods)

Rick: Any longer and he will be downright crazy.

Edward: Kate, congratulate me! I'm a champion ring tosser now.

Kate: Well, in that case we should celebrate. How about going for some pizza on the way home?

Edward: Oh, that sounds delightful!

(Edward, Kate, Dexter, Rick and Alfonso drive to Ciccone Papparazzis' Pizza.)


Scene 4:

(Rick, Edward, Kate, Alfonso and Dexter around table eating pepperoni and pineapple pizza)

Dexter: Mm! This is delicious!

Edward: Hey, I bet you can't do this.

(Edward takes pineapple off peice of pizza and tosses it up into thr air and catches it in his mouth.)

Alfonso: Who would want to do that?

Dexter: I challenge you to an eating pizza toss! (points to Edward)

Kate: Now, don't be silly! Just eat your pizza.

(Dexter and Edward begin tossing pieces of pineapple and pepperoni into the air and catching them in their mouths.)

Kate: Dexter! Edward! Stop this nonsense! You're embarrassing us!

(The waiter goes by their table.)

Waiter: Here's your bill. (puts tray on table with bill, mints and toothpicks)

Rick: Thanks. (looks at bill)

(Dexter grabs all mints on tray)

Edward: Hey, give me a mint!

Dexter: No. They're all mine!

Edward: Give me a mint! Give me a mint!

Dexter: Stop complaining, you big baby! (crams mints into his mouth)

Kate: Be quiet, you two. I'm going to pay the bill. Please behave until I get back. (gets up from table)

Alfonso: Uncle Dex, can I have a mint?

Dexter: Not on your life! (holds mints out of everyones' reach)

(Edward pounds his fists on the table, sobbing)

Edward: Give me a mint! Give me a mint!

(Kate comes back to table)

Kate: Alright, everyone! Lets' go! Edward, control yourself.

Edward: Alright, Kate. (sniffles)

(They all get up and leave the pizza place)


Scene 5:

(Later on that evening)

(Dexter and Edward playing shuffle board in living room. Edward scores the last shot on the board.)

Edward: Ha! Na, na, na, na, na! I won!

(Edward dances atound and claps his hands. Kate walks in.)

Dexter: Kate, have a talk with this YOUNG man, please!

(Dexter exits and Kate and Edward sit down on couch)

Kate: Edward, what's with you?

Edward: What do you mean, Kate? (rolls dice around in hand)

Kate: You're acting so much like a child!

Edward: It's how I am, Kate.

Kate: I know. I'm sorry.

Edward: I'm sorry if I caused you any embarassment today at the pizza place. I didn't mean to.

Kate: Apology accepted.

Edward: Thankyou.

Kate: I have an idea of what we could do next week.

Edward: What?

Kate: Want to drive around go-karts?

Edward: Now, that's a fabulous idea!

(Kate and Edward hug.)
