Who else here hates AOL and hopes the company burns in the flames of Hell soon? AOL SUCKSSSSSS. If you hate AOL reply!

Heres some reason why I hate AOL:

-Getting kicked off. They kick you off every other half hour just for fun. It's ridiculous.

-The dreaded "Woal has caused an error" screen. Ever gotten those? It says that and the only thing you can do is click close which kicks you off. I get those about 5 times every time I get online!

-The browser is incredibly craptastic. Sometimes webpages will be updated and you wont even know it because aol still shows th old ones. Very dumb!!! If you click refresh though it usually fixes.

-AOL media player. So stupid! Not even worth adding to the software.

-The keyword pages on AOL take sooo long to load. You could wait fricken two minutes for that little screen to load. And they are so pointless!! All they do is link you to something thats on a webpage!! Whats the point?

-The Buddy Lists. AOL users pay for their servive and we get a crappy buddy list! AIM users get an awesome Buddy List for free!!! On AIM you can change the font on your buddy list, send pictures, and the list goes on and on.

-Profiles. There is so many things that suck about AOL profiles. You have to use HTML to change colors. Their is a word limit. You can never change the color of "Member Name". You can't put links in them unless the URL is short.. otherwise they wont work. And so on...

Okay thats all I've got so far... If you have any more you can add on. DIIIIIIE AOL DIIIIIIE.

I never have had nor never will have AOL because there are so many things wrong with it. For instance, all versions from 5.0 on up during the instalation will say, "Do you want to make AOL your default browser?" If you answer "Yes" you will NOT be able to use a conventional Web Browser (I.E or Netscape) or will have great difficulty in trying to use other on-line dial up services. (You might not be able to use them at all!.)

The reason for this crap is because AOL is like putting a whole new Operating System on your computer. And because Windows (Microsoft) and AOL (Time Warner) HATE each other, AOL users are prone to problems as it is. If you answer "Yes" to the above instalation question, "AOL will proceed to change and modify over 300 Windows registry files on your computer causing problems with other browsers and such." (There is a class action lawsuit going on about this topic) If you have AOL version 5.0, 6.0, and 7,0 and that is the ONLY DIAL UP NETWORK THAT you use. (You don't have Netscape, you don't have I.E, you don't log in to other networks and have NO OTHER dial up browsers on your computer you can answer "Yes" to the instalation question of "Make AOL my default browser" If you have other dial up or cable modem connections on your computer, you MUST answer NO to the instalation question, otherwise AOL will take over your computer and you will run into problems. You can't just uninstall AOL to fix these problems because there are SOOOOOO many layers of crap integrated within that software. Your only option is to reformat your hard drive and reinstall everything if you run into these problems. Translation, AOL is total crap.

Also, stay away from Netscape 6.0 and above. Netscape 6.0 and above are now owned by AOL, and the browser is a total mess!

I just hate it period. My Norton Crashguard always comes up saying there is an error, and I get kicked off. :crying: I HATE IT!

Right here...I do!

It wouldn't let me on this morning for anything. I had to wait three stinking hours before I could get own cause it was fouled up...yet again. It's either constantly freezing or kicking me off. It just stinks...that's all there is to it!

Put AOL and Hallmark together and I think I could go on for days about this...


...instead I'm going to retreat to the bottom of the lake where my hole is now located...

I have to agree with you on AOL. The one thing I hated most (from everything) is WAOL......... I dreaded this stinkin word! :mad:

I have Compuserve, but its just as bad. I used to have AOL, but my trial ran out.

AOL IS EEEEEEEEEEEEVIIIIIIIIIIIIIIL.

I miss AOL :( Even though AOL 7.0 helped mess up my old computer, I luved AOL 5.0 and 6.0. It never did any of those things to me lol, cept for 7.0. Compuserve is evil to the bone though. It's ugly and you can't get mail you accidently delete and er sometimes the internet thingy won't work on it. It takes forever to get buddy lists up and you can't go into chats on Compuserve names. It takes forevre to find sections like Prefrences and stuff. Just my 2 and a half cents.

I hate AOL. I have a withstanding bill w/ them for like 70 bucks...and i refuse to pay it. THey jipped me on some monthly rates, and refuse to admit it. So i refuse to give them a credit card number that works!!

Get compuserve. It's like the stupid sister to AOL, but it doesn't kick you off...i like never get kicked off! The only time i do, is when my computer freezes up...but that doens't have anything to do w/ interent..my comp is just a POS

OK, you all officially have to stop complaning about AOL cos Freeserve is a zillion times worse.
I'm on Freeserve and they -
* can't uphold a decent connection - you get cut off every 5 minutes
* decide to change their numbers ever few months without telling their customers so you try to dial up to get online using an obsolete number
* offer absolutely no benefits to their loyal customers who still stay with them despite all the crap they pull on a regular basis
* they put up their charges without giving you any prior warning

FREESERVE SUCKS!!!!!!! Tell your friends!

ATT is the worst but AOL does suck. Remember when I had Sapphire324?? Sean and Karli should know the most how bad it is.
