The CW Sets Midseason Return Date for "Supernatural"

The final season of "Supernatural" airs March 16 at 8 PM.
It will wrap its historic 15-season run on Monday, May 18.

Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki joined fellow cast members and creator Eric Kripke in sending off their long-running CW series, which wrapped filming on Thursday. “To those I have worked with on this journey and to those who have watched and supported…you will never understand my great appreciation for you ‘Thank you’ doesn’t cover it," wrote Ackles. "There just aren’t words. I’m so grateful for these memories that I will carry with me forever. What a ride it has been. And what a run."

Co-showrunner Robert Singer says thanks to the show being a "very well-oiled machine," the show was able to proceed without any problems, filming nine days for each episode instead of the usual eight. Stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles say they felt a responsibility to avoid being reckless off-set in Vancouver. “It would have been shutting down production and putting people out of work again, so everybody was more careful than they were required," says Padalecki. “We all felt the importance. We weren’t going out on weekends.” Ackles added: “Everybody was taking it very seriously."
