I'm just curious....why did DS move from NBC to ABC anyway? Is it just me, or does it seem like when a series moves from one network to another it doesn't survive. Kind of like when the Hogan Family moved from NBC to CBS, and when Step by Step and Family Matters moved from ABC to CBS.

Also, I noticed they redecorated in "Sam's Missing", but looking at the episode guide, it says that was not the season premiere. What's up with that? I was 10 years old when the last season happened, but I didn't really watch the show that much until it went into syndication, at least the last season anyway.

I think NBC axed the show and ABC rescued it for one last season, but then they axed it since it got such low ratings.

Sam's Missing were the first 2 broadcast episodes from the last season even though they come later in the official guide.

The episode guide for "Diff'rent Strokes" is in most places in production order, instead of airdate order. "Sam's Missing" was the first aired, but not the first made. NBC cancelled it in spring of '85 but ABC picked up for fall '85. It did even worse on ABC, going from 40 or 50 something in the ratings to #75.
