I never understood why people liked A Different World. It was never funny to me. The only reason why it was a Top 10 show for so long was because The Cosby Show was it's lead in. As soon as The Cosby Show left the air, A Different World's ratings TANKED.

I like Cheers, but I have NEVER understood what people see in Frasier I just plain don't find the show funny. I wouldn't call it one of the worst spin-offs though, just one of the most overrated.

HEllo Larry wasn't exactly a Spinoff, since none of the characters on that show were regulars on DIfferent Strokes. They did a few episodes with the cast crossing over to draw attention to "Hello Larry," but the results were dismal.

At the risk of offending the Three's Company fans, John Ritter's spinoff "Three's A Crowd" wasn't good. They had a good run with the original, they didn't need to drag it out...

Hello, Larry actually ran for a season and a half.. There are approximately 35 total episodes (if you include the Diff'rent Strokes crossover episodes)..

I think one of the best spinoffs would have to be Laverne & Shirley, and Frasier...I'm not sure about the worst spinoff..

The worst spin-off I can think of was "Three's a Crowd". It was just a horrible way of keeping a tired "Three's Company" going.

Maybe if they had kept Don Knotts it might have been watchable.

The worst spin-offs I can think of off-hand are "The Facts of Life" and "Maude".

As much as I enjoy "M*A*S*H," I have to say that "AfterMash" was really a bad idea.

Should have been called "Anti-Mash..."

i totally disagree with that.
the different strokes episodes with the hello larry cast were among the most entertaining.
i wish that hello larry ran at least 5 years.

the ropers were a funny b plot to threes company
but they could't carry their own sitcom.it would be like fred and ethel leaving i love lucy to star in their own sitcom.
it would'nt have worked.

McLean Stevenson never should have left M*A*S*H.
Hello Larry was one of his better post Mash efforts, but he never got a part as good as Henry Blake.

I think the worst spinoff was "The Brady Brides" because I thought both Marcia and Jan deserved better husbands than those two!

"Joannie Loves Chachi"... spun off of Happy Days, flopped after a few episodes, was never heard from again. That's my vote for worst spin-off.

I unfortunately (fortunately?) haven't seen some of the most infamous spinoffs, like "Joanie Loves Chachi" and "AfterMASH..."

Of the ones I have seen, I'd say the worst was probably The Golden Palace. They didn't just lose a character, they changed the whole style of the show, and failed to make it funny. After watching "The Golden Girls" for years, my family quit on that one after just a couple of episodes...

one word: Joey

"Joey" should be an example of how NOT to make a good spinoff!!

The other worst ones are:
Top Of The Heap-short-lived spin-off of "Married With Children". I think it only lasted for about 5 episodes, fortunately. It was HORRIBLE!!!!!
After Mash
The Ropers-they were funny on "Three's Company, but they should never have given them their own series.
704 Houser Street-I remember when it was on, my sister watched it once, and when I asked her how it was, she said "It's just "All In The Family" with a different cast. That's all."

I'll go with Living Dolls. That was a spin-off of WTB.

Dean Winchester

The Facts Of Life
A Different World

how funny, those two get my votes for not only "best spinoffs" but actually two of the only spinoffs that were better than their parent series IMO

one thing a lot of people forget (thankfully) is that Top Of The Heap, which was a spinoff from Married With Children with Matt LeBlanc that most like to forget ever happened.... also had its own spinoff, Vinnie And Bobby, which also had LeBlanc.

Just that alone should've been a warning to NBC about Leblanc not being the "go to" guy to keep the Friends franchise alive
