Someone who is old enough to watch Good Tines in the 70's in its original run said something like,"I was in the audience when Keith slapped Thelma. Michael actually begun walking to Keith with a menancing exoressuon like he was about to beat him up for hitting Thelma. Thelma stopped Michael from beating up Keith. This scene was cut out of all syndicated reruns for some reason." This does make sense that Michael at least was planning to beat up Keith but got stopped by Thelma and IIRC, Bernadette said the writers wanted Thelma to show she was a strong and grown woman who could take care of Keith herself with no help...
