Funny I was just thinking the same about a few colleagues I know. To answer the question directly they are usually shows that have run for far too long as money-spinners for the shareholders and have lost any artistic integrity they may once have possessed. stevea 10-11-2019, 01:09 PM NCIS and the CSI shows. Yong Fang 10-18-2019, 09:04 AM I think that there are TV shows and especially sitcoms which really aren’t that noteworthy but have stayed on the air for many years because they garner enough of an audience in their time period to be profitable. An old example is the show Alice. Alice was on for Nine Seasons. That’s pretty amazing. The show itself to me was not that great but we liked the characters and enough people watched it so it just kept getting renewed. Maybe a current example is The Goldbergs. That show is what, in their 7th season? The show was sort of cute when it started and I loved the guy playing the dad until I discovered Curb Your Enthusiam. But the show again is so-so but does well enough to keep getting renewed. That Jim Belushi sitcom I never watched. Lasted Nine Seasons. Another good example. bmasters9 10-18-2019, 09:23 AM That Jim Belushi sitcom I never watched. Lasted Nine Seasons. Another good example.
