I was recently thinking about this and can't seem to remember what show this was. I remember catching the show when I got home from school during the late 90's and it featured reenactment scenes. I don't recall the channel or if it was cable or network TV.

One scene I remember is this elderly woman trying to get away from somebody and calling for help / escape from her window in a high rise apt. building. She ultimately fell and died. Anyone remember this?
