TMC 10-05-2019, 02:01 AM What are some TV shows that had potential to be good (or we’re good) but got canceled within a season or less? 70s show watcher 10-13-2019, 08:47 PM friends with better lives icecream 10-15-2019, 06:36 PM The trifecta of great one season shows that deserved way better ratings The best one season sitcom of all time DAG- 2000 NBC sitcom starring David Alan Grier as a Secret Service agent who got demoted to Delta Burke's First Lady. I wish DAG would be released on DVD. A lot of junk that is available I would never buy, but I will probably never get to see this gem again. The best one season drama of all time Hostages- Well cast CBS drama from 2013 about a suspenseful plot to kill the fictional president and take a surgeon's family hostage. Dylan McDermott and Toni Collette were the main stars. James Spader ruined The Practice in its final season after Dylan McDermott was unjustly fired as its star. Adding insult to injury, his inferior drama The Blacklist dominated Mondays at 10PM because of a lot stronger lead-in from The Voice and killed any chance of Hostages doing well. Too bad the networks weren't switched and Blacklist stuck with the weak Mom lead-in. That year Mom was the lowest rated of the full season comedies on CBS, only comedy that did worse was the We Are Men disaster (Tony Shalhoub's worst work ever) that was pulled after just two episodes. At least I got to rewatch the entire series of Hostages on Streampix this year. The best one season game show of all time Grand Slam- GSN's all-star tournament of game show champions from 2007 that had excellent game play. It was cancelled after one short season airing on Saturday nights. Even before GSN became the Harvey Feud network this brilliant show never had a chance. Yet garbage like Baggage became big hits. Like DAG, I will probably never get to see Grand Slam again. :( Schmoopie 10-15-2019, 07:20 PM I loved Medicine Ball and I wish they had given it more of a chance. AMackII 10-16-2019, 10:18 AM The 1970s syndicated version of I've Got A Secret, it should've lasted longer as the 1970s syndicated revivals of What's My Line & To Tell The Truth were. '80sSitcoms 10-17-2019, 09:31 AM ABC's 1989 sitcom "Free Spirit" was SO much fun as a kid. I was crushed when my mom told me it was canceled. I wish there had been a lot more than 14 episodes. |
