Barr said on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast that unnamed network executives warned her not to say anything offensive or she'd lose her Roseanne residuals. “That’s kind of what killed the comedy thing for me. I was told that me getting in trouble one more time, I wouldn’t have my reruns anymore," she said, according to The Wrap. "And I live on that (income), you know?” she said. “I asked for it to be defined … They said, ‘You know what it means.'”

That's sad to hear. I'm glad it's back on tv again and she gets the income off it. I wonder if she also gets a cut from dvd sales of her show? I plan to buy the complete series and i'd like knowing that a portion of my money goes straight to her for the sale.

She should still get residuals from the original show, and I doubt they could take that away.

It's despicable and why even though I love the original classic Roseanne show and will always watch it, it is difficult at times watching her co stars knowing what they would do to her in the future. Especially Sara Gilbert for reasons i've already mentioned here. I can't STAND that little.....person. (I'm refraining what I really want to call her!)

In any case, i'm glad Roseanne still retained her residual rights to the old show, but I am a bit confused about that. If she still has the rights to the show, wouldn't ABC have no grounds to threaten to withhold her residuals from it, unless she stupidly signed a new contract agreeing to their new rules.

I'd love to see her sue ABC to get back the rights to her name and both shows and then tell everyone to so eff themselves while laughing like she did at the end of her old show openings. :lol:

I tried to hold back in my post as not to offend anyone here, but I completely agree with you. Hollywood has been hijacked by these extreme far left, fascist, communist thinking people. Hollywood was never like this years ago and all we can do at this point IMO is tune out and let the low ratings show what we think of them.

I watch absolutely nothing of modern television and haven't for years. Until the pendulum swings back at least to the middle and some kind of fairness and respect of everyone's different views returns, i'm done with Hollyweird.

And not to get too political, but I think Trump has done a great job these last few years and hope he's re-elected. And this is coming from someone who voted for Clinton twice in the 90's and against Bush in '00 and '04.

I voted against O in '08 and '12 but not because of his race (as i'm sure someone will accuse me of) but because that man scares me to death. There's something sinister about him imo and I always got the willies whenever i'd see him on tv and have to change the channel. :lol:

Right on! I haven't watched a new sitcom in over a DECADE because this INSANE politically correct environment has DESTROYED comedy!
