Boy Meets World actress Maitland Ward has ditched her Disney past in favour of a career in pornography.
The star, 42, who played Rachel McGuire in the hit Nineties sitcom, spoke candidly to In Touch about her career change, as she confessed she opted to explore the adult film industry after being 'impressed' by the writing.
Speaking to In Touch Weekly, she explained: 'They asked me to be a part of this, and I thought, "I never knew there was anything in adults or porn or whatever that was this well done". I read the script, and I was like, "This is really, really well written"'.
In 1998, Maitland joined Boy Meets World as main cast member starred as Rachel McGuire in its sixth season until it ended in 2000.
Now however, her career has had a huge change after she began her work in porn and has signed to adult boutique talent agency Society 15.
She went on: 'This has so many themes in this and just my character is so different than anything I have portrayed before'.
'I felt ready. It wasn’t like I was saying, "Oh, I want to do this all along", but it was like, "I need to do this". I really feel that quality stuff and the hot sex stuff can be together, and I really want that.'
Her chat comes ahead of the release of her latest movie Drive, which she was promoting on Instagram with a sizzling snap.
Following a different social media path is her co-star Danielle Fishel, who hit headlines earlier this year when she shared a new photo of her son to Instagram.
The photo gave just a sneak peak at the newborn, named Adler. Showing just his legs resting on the family's beloved rescue dog, Brunch, the new mom gave a glimpse into her world.
This comes days after the Boy Meets World star finally brought her little boy home from the hospital after three weeks in the NICU after being born early.
The 38-year-old said, 'The house is a mess, I have a stye on my left eye. I haven't showered in two days. I can't remember when I did anything.'
Explaining the sleepless nights with a newborn she said she and her husband Jensen 'now take baby night shifts where we pass each other like zombies mission.'
But she was clear: 'They are some of the best days of my life.'

Porn pays better than Disney, a former actress-turned-adult film star says.
Maitland Ward, who rose to fame on ABC/Disney Channel's BOY MEETS WORLD,
says she makes more money in the adult entertainment industry and has even
been nominated for awards-- take that, Academy!
The actress, 42, tells The Daily Beast she recently was nominated for two
Adult Video News Awards, a ceremony akin to the Academy Awards but for
porn, for best three-way sex scene and best supporting actress.
"When people say, 'She had to turn to porn,' I laugh, because this is a
good thing and I'm making more now," she says. "If you talked to my
younger, more virginal soap-opera self, I never would have seen this coming
out of me."
Ward, who played Rachel McGuire, the bombshell redhead obsession of both
Eric (Will Friedle) and Jack (Matthew Lawrence), says her career transition
to porn happened by chance. After BOY MEETS WORLD ended in 2000, she booked
a few bit parts in Hollywood before moving on to study theater and
screenwriting in New York and Los Angeles.
But in 2013, as a 30-something actress, she says she got her big break at
comic conventions while dressed up in sexy cosplay, which she posted on
social media-- much to her team's chagrin.
"I had a publicist who was like, 'Stop putting up sexy pictures. They will
not hire you for anything if you do that. Once you get past 30, 35, they
don't hire you for doing sexy stuff. You should be auditioning to play
Disney moms,'" she says. "He thought he was giving me good advice, but it
just wasn't my thing. I was typecast. I was seen as a wholesome comedy
star, and I was trying to fight against that. I didn't want to play a
Disney mom."
Soon after, she discovered that her millions of Instagram fans wanted more,
so she began selling adult content-- including nude photos-- online
through a Snapchat premium account, porn app OnlyFans, and content service
Patreon.
"For 2018, I was the No. 1 adult-content creator for Patreon," she says,
"and it put the power back in my hands. Studios wouldn't give me that."
Ward tells The Daily Beast she makes as much as five figures a month on
OnlyFans alone, snagging $62,000 in her best month during 2018.
Soon after, she started doing girl-on-girl sex scenes on her premium
Snapchat account, something she calls "just another kind of performance,"
which led to her first feature porn role in DRIVE. She first announced her
role in the 3½-hour "erotic thriller" on Instagram, where she posts a slew
of X-rated photos.
I guess that with her being in her 40's now, she is doing what she can in the field before she is too old. (shrugs)
God bless you and her always!!!

Something tells me that there's much more to the story that Maitland is trying to tell. I obviously don't easily buy the argument that being a mom on a sitcom wouldn't pay better and be a more stable career option than being an over-40 porn star. I mean, why couldn't she be better at managing her money? She could've kept her public reputation intact in case she ever wanted to try legitimate acting again.
If anything, Maitland going into porn is more damning than being a mom on a Disney show because she can pretty much forget about landing mainstream work again. Maitland is also (even if you take the move to porn movies out of the equation) pretty much degrading herself to begin with because she's clearly sending the message is that all she thinks she has going for her is her T&A.
I'm guessing that in part, Maitland figured that her acting roles would probably only be occasional at best if she decided to try again full time. Her credits post-Boy Meets World are incredibly sparse:
Rules of Engagement (TV Series) Dani - Young and the Restless (2007) ... Dani
Out of Practice (TV Series) Staci - Pilot (2005) ... Staci
White Chicks (2004) Brittany Wilson
Boston Public (TV Series) - Chapter Forty-Three (2002) ... Rachel Newman
Whenever I come across another story regarding Maitland Ward, I'm immediately worried about posting here since it might trend into NSFW territory:
Former Boy Meets World actress Maitland Ward, 43, reveals how becoming a porn star 'allowed her to be herself and saved her from Hollywood' (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8560151/Former-Boy-Meets-World-actress-Maitland-Ward-reveals-porn-star-saved-Hollywood.html)
JamesG 07-26-2020, 12:57 PM I've seen some of her "work" on PornHub... she's pretty good for a mature woman (by porn standards).

‘Boy Meets World’ actress Maitland Ward says Will Friedle is ‘supportive’ of her porn career but ‘won’t watch’ (https://www.yahoo.com/news/boy-meets-world-actress-maitland-165525231.html)
There was one former co-star who supported Maitland Ward’s shocking career in adult films.
The actress previously joined the cast of "Boy Meets World" in Season 6 as Rachel McGuire. Her character caught the eye of both Eric Matthews (Will Friedle) and Jack Hunter (Matthew Lawrence), her college roommates. The series aired from 1993 until 2000.
On Thursday, the 44-year-old told Us Weekly that more than two decades later, Friedle has remained one of her biggest fans even after she entered the porn industry.
"I heard from Will not too long ago and he was so sweet," she told the outlet about the 45-year-old. "He [was] saying how supportive he was of me, but he won’t watch anything."
Ward is currently leading a successful career with Vixen Media Group, which the outlet described as "the premier online destination for exclusive and luxury adult content." Ward recently became Vixen’s first-ever billboard star.
The actress shared that she hasn’t received "any negative" messages about her career shift.
"I actually ran into Will at Comic-Con right after my first film was released," Ward recalled. "And he was like, ‘OK, I don’t want to see anything. I won’t see anything that you do, but I’m happy [that] you’re happy.’"
Ward also told the outlet that she has been "in contact and friends all along" with former "Boy Meets World" co-star Trina McGee, who played Shawn Hunter’s (Rider Strong) love interest Angela Moore for three seasons.
The actress teased that "there has been talk" about the cast getting back together for possibly a reunion special, but nothing official is on the table. These days, Ward has been focused on making her mark in adult films.
"We have a billboard up in Hollywood, right by where the Oscars are," she boasted. "So that’s really exciting. It’s a really monumental thing for me because you know Hollywood… I kind of was typecast and kind of pushed out of Hollywood. I was only told I could do a certain thing in Hollywood and be a certain kind of performer."
Ward, who didn’t want to be typecast in sitcoms, said she was eager to "break out and do something really different." And porn, she said, has given her "the best acting roles of my life so far."
"It catapulted me to a fame that I wouldn’t have had if I just did what traditional Hollywood wanted me to do," she added.
Ward embarked on her porn career in 2019 nearly two decades after "Boy Meets World" ended. She is writing a memoir, titled "My Escape From Hollywood: Why I Left to Become a Porn Star," which will hit shelves in 2022.
In June of this year, Ward described to Fox News the moment she realized that being an adult performer would be the right choice for her.
"I had been going to Comic-Con [for the cosplay], and I'm getting a following and attention and stuff," she said at the time. "But I remember one time somebody at Comic-Con came up to me and said, 'Oh, my God, you're Maitland.’ And I said, ‘Yes.’ And they're like, ‘I love you on Snapchat.’ This was years ago, and I was like, 'Wait a minute – this person isn't saying, I love you on ‘Boy Meets World' or 'White Chicks' or whatever.' It was like, ‘I watch you on Snapchat all the time.’"
"And I had a huge Snapchat for a while," Ward continued. "That's kind of how I got into doing my content because I kept getting pictures kicked off of there. I would do more of my sexier stuff – and they allowed you for a while – but then they started clamping down kind of. So then I got into it. But I remember at the time I was like, wow, somebody is like, 'I watched you on that.' And then it was more like, 'I'm following you on social media.'
JO Sweet Heart 11-19-2021, 11:50 AM ^^^ Wow, I wonder what has to happen with the girl in order for her former TV family to do nothing but shake their heads.
God bless you and the cast members of this show always!!!

PracTz 11-19-2021, 09:40 PM Since Mr. Friedle is married, I imagine he told Miss Ward that he would NOT be looking at her pics in the altogether out of respect for his wife.
I wonder if Miss Ward thinks she can be another Sally Rand who would fan dance for monies into her 70's.
Maitland Ward on why she went from Hollywood to porn: 'It's scary to forge your own path, but it's the only way that you're going to be happy' (https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/maitland-ward-sexuality-unapologetically-160046665.html)
At 45, Maitland Ward is unapologetic about "everything" in her life.
"I'm unapologetic about sex…but I think it's me in my truth and everything," she tells Yahoo Life. "When I was young, I was so apologetic for so many years. I will never apologize anymore."
The actress, who got her start on The Bold and the Beautiful before joining the cast of Boy Meets World as Rachel in 1998, has since left Hollywood in favor of a career in pornography. That journey — which she chronicles in her upcoming book Rated X: How Porn Liberated Me From Hollywood, out Sept. 6 — was one of taking back control of her sexuality.
"I was always looked at, in my view, as the more provocative one — people were fascinated by my long legs, and that I'm so tall and I have fiery red hair and, and it was like it almost made that OK," Ward says of her experiences on TV sets, noting that some of what she experienced would not be "acceptable" today. "People would come up and like pat you on the ass or like give you a little pinch or say, 'Oh, look how hot you are. Look at your tits.'"
What was particularly challenging, Ward shares, was that she was expected to be "a sexualized being" for other people, but wasn't expected to actually enjoy her sexuality. She was told to be virginal and chaste, but also appeal to male viewers.
"If I was on a show, like Boy Meets World, I could be sexy. I could wear a sheet with little feathers on it in nude pictures that I had for my boyfriend — that's fine," she says, of a plot point from an episode of the ABC sitcom, in which her character's friends share a risqué photo of her as a prank. "If I ever wore anything like that, or did anything suggestive like that in real life, Disney and producers and Hollywood would've come down on me. Especially the producer, Michael Jacobs — he was very adamant about me being chaste and the good girl."
At the time, Ward says stars like Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson were some of Hollywood's biggest sex symbols, but they also were known for their virginity.
"It was just very confusing. It hindered my sexual exploration and finding out who I was for a very long time," she shares.
Ward says she began exploring adult entertainment after she married her husband Terry Baxter in 2006. She became the number one adult creator on Patreon shortly after launching her account, and a year and a half later, got into professional porn productions. Baxter, she says, was "super supportive" of her decision to embrace her sexuality.
"Our sex life is way better now," she explains. "I mean, it was always good and, and intimate and you know, like a marriage should be. But I think now that I'm really open with myself and I can try new things and I'm not holding back or anything — I think that's really sexy."
As a porn performer, Ward shares that she feels less pressure about aging than she did while working in mainstream Hollywood.
"That was a scary prospect back in the early 2000s, to think, 'Oh my God, you're done. You're going to be done very soon.' So it was also kind of like a race, but men could stay around forever, which was, and they did. And they still do," she says.
"Hollywood is very hard on aging but I have felt less of that stigma in porn," she says. Though she was once told that "nobody wants to see you sexy unless you're 25," she found that not to be the case at all.
"Interestingly enough, the audience doesn't feel that way so much," she explains. "I had more fans coming along as I've been older and been sexual…I was told nobody would come along and now I've had major success with it. So that was bulls*** that they were feeding. I think it's just all part of this Hollywood machine — they want to keep you in a certain place at a certain time."
Ward wants people to know that it's OK to take control of their life, no matter where they started from.
"It's scary to forge your own path, but it's the only way that you're going to be happy. It doesn't have to be porn. That's my more scandalous side," she says. "I didn't just switch overnight. It's about making conscious efforts and decisions over time to get to a place that you want to be, embracing your truth. I want people to embrace their truth and just live how they want to live and be who they want to be. People are attracted to that."
