View Full Version : New episodes of Forensic Files in 2020
It has been announced that HLN, which has been airing reruns of Forensic Files for years, has ordered new episodes of the series. The new episodes will begin airing in 2020. Since series narrator Peter Thomas died in 2016, there will, of course, be a new narrator, but no announcement has been made yet on who it will be. One thing is for certain, however: Whoever narrates the new Forensic Files will have big shoes to fill.

Yes he did have a habit of making even the dullest episodes sound exciting. I'm sorry he died. Does anyone know anything about the guy?

Peter Thomas made a career out of voiceover work. He provided such work for many commercials, including Dairy Queen, Burger King, Coca-Cola, Arthritis Pain Formula, and IBM. He also narrated the PBS series Nova, and a sample of his voice can be heard in Paul Hardcastle's 1985 hit song "19." As a World War II veteran, Peter Thomas spent his free time working on behalf of veterans. There is a wealth of information on Peter Thomas. Google his name for more details.

I remember this as if it were yesterday.
I've just seen his parents were British, which might explain his distinct enunciation. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Thomas_(announcer)
According to an article at the link below, they plan to keep FF looking and sounding like the original. The music will remain the same. After seeing some cheap reboots/revivals of great TV shows (such as the 2008 Spike version of Unsolved Mysteries), this is welcome news.

It's official: Bill Camp is the new narrator of Forensic Files. For the uninitiated, Bill Camp is a character actor who currently stars in the HBO series Outsider. His earliest film appearance was in the 1990 movie Reversal of Fortune. He appeared in the 2015 Johnny Depp movie Black Mass, in which Depp played Whitey Bulger. Check out his IMDB profile (link below) for more information on him.
The new season of FF begins on Sunday, February 23 at 10:00 pm (EST) on the cable network HLN.
