I'm currently researching logos right now and I noticed that when Viacom first debuted it debuted with a logo that featured weird sound effects like a pinball machine and then started with the famous V Of Doom logo and then in the 90's Viacom used a logo that had a weird sound and also introduced the famous Viacom logo with the sound effect and a guy's voice saying Viacom. I also noticed that Viacom has a new logo with an autotuned T-Pain like voice saying Viacom. Did Viacom often change logos to keep up with the times?

Ooh, a company I have experience with. Viacom's first (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5ok2g0qZ8g&list=PLJgJ4HhSOecQ3fRWT7TKJBAh01-O_pQW4&index=24&t=0s) logo was used from 1971-1976. Their second (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzEQXjamQXI&list=PLJgJ4HhSOecQ3fRWT7TKJBAh01-O_pQW4&index=20&t=0s) logo was used from 1976-1986. Their third (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1z8vZP-2aIA) logo was used from 1986-1990. Their fourth (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thW8o1jOfgo) logo was used from 1990-1998. Their fifth and final logo was used from 1998-2004.
I'm not certain if the logo changes were to keep up with modern times, I'm sure it was just to update their brand. I own their first and second logos on 16mm film; in fact, the first two videos come from my YouTube channel. Their first logo was nearly extinct on TV until MeTV aired S11 of "My Three Sons" back in June 2018. The second logo can be seen on "The Millionaire" on Decades.
The current Viacom, the one trying to merge with CBS, is not the same Viacom that used the logos above. That incarnation of Viacom closed in 2005.
