The Gretchen Burford and Matthew Chase segments, besides being creepy as hell, have many similarities/coincidences.

- Both took place in California

- Both took place in 1988

- Both Matthew and Gretchen had to go to an ATM at night to deposit a paycheck

- Matthew had to go two blocks from home. Gretchen had to go two blocks from work.

- It is not known when exactly both of them were abducted but it is believed to be some time after their first ATM stop.

- Both Gretchen and Matt were forced to drive their own cars to a different ATM in the same city to make a withdrawal. And in both cases, their withdrawals were over the limit of what the bank would allow.

- In both cases, the assailant left behind headgear in the vehicle; a bandana in Matthew's car and a Paisley hat in Gretchen's car.

I always find it interesting when a case takes place on a date in which a different episode of UM originally aired.

Dorothy Wacker was attacked in her yard on Wednesday, October 27, 1993, the same day the infamous Wendy Camp case was first shown.

Some same day crimes:

- Jim Burnside stabbing Annette to death in the parking lot of where she worked (Bradenton, FL) and Cathy Ford disappearing (Gormania, WV) took place within two hours of each other on February 17, 1988.

- Debi Whitlock was murdered (Modesto, CA) on the same day Lisa Marie Kimmel was murdered (Casper, WY) on March 25, 1988.

- Ethel Kidd's body was discovered (Burr Hill, VA) on the same day Patricia Meehan went missing (Circle, MT) on April 20, 1989.

- Not the same day, but the abductions of Amber Schwartz, Angelo Desideri and Matthew Chase all took place during the same week - June 3rd, 5th & 8th of 1988.
