Loved Eileen in this role. She was the infamous Mrs. Daigle from the motion picture “The Bad Seed”. I also saw her in an episode of Barnaby Jones during this same 1970s era. She is hilariously unbearable Mother-In-Lawish as Alice’s late husband’s Mother.

She was definitely conniving and kind of unbearable, but she was also somewhat likable. I actually liked the mother-in-law a lot better than Alice's actual mother played by Doris Roberts. I COULD NOT STAND that woman! She was manipulative, annoying, pushy and mentally abusive. She did not have one redeeming quality about her. I wanted to shove turkey in her face when she was force feeding Alice's boyfriend at Thanksgiving after she got rid of his steak. She was tacky, selfish and obnoxious.

She had a small part in a '70s television movie called "Burnt Offerings" with Burgess Merideth, Karen Black and Oliver Reed. It was a pretty good movie, very dark and freaky.
