I would like to convert my 8mm and VHS tapes to a digital format. Read somewhere that it is best to convert to a digital file vs going to a dvd. Has anyone done this and if so what kind of device has you purchased to use. I have been looking at converter ? gadgets but don't know what is good to use. I have a MAC computer. I'm not crazy about giving my tapes to an a store to do for one thing most all do a dvd which I don't want. Also $20.00 a tape can add up. I have about 40 tapes with family events.
