Happened to catch an episode of The Love Boat yesterday on MeTV and the thought occurred to me, the entire original cast of this show is still alive! It premiered in 1977, so to me that is quite a feat. Can anyone think of an older series in which the entire original cast is still living? or the series that would come in 2nd place?

Roy Thinnes, who was on "The Invaders" is still alive. He was the only actor to appear in 43 episodes of the show.

My guess is that as far back it might go is the 60s. I think everyone from Please Don't Eat the Daisies is still around.

I am watching Invaders. Interesting to see stars in their early roles.

This is an interesting topic. I think Samme got it.

I researched the 60s and I found nothing else.

The 70s are even tough. The OP got The Love Boat, but I think that's the only one in the 70s. Taxi and WKRP come close.

Not too many I can think of. Up until the death of Charlotte Rae in August 2018, the whole main cast of The Facts of Life was still alive. I’m guessing now maybe Family Ties.

This was the first thing that came to mind for me too.

Not a sitcom, but how about CHiPs? That premiered in 1977.

I had mentioned this several years earlier, but Samme is correct.

Interesting it's still true.

The entire cast of Police Woman is still alive. That came on in 1974 as long as we're talking about shows from the 70's.

I think we have a winner, Samme mentioned "Please Don't Eat the Daisies" unless someone knows otherwise all the human cast members are still with us.

Lord Nelson who played Ladadog (and was a regular in the early seasons of the Doris Day Show) is no longer with us.

This is morbid I know, but is there an online database of which actors have died and which are still living?

www.deadoraliveinfo.com covers famous people, whether actors or not.

https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/twilightzoneworfr/twilight-zone-actor-database-birth-death-dates-of--t2506.html#.Vx7pBTArKM- includes status of all actors who appeared on THE TWILIGHT ZONE (which is nearly 1000). Updates (of which there have been many in the last 13 years) follow later on the thread. As a special note, 2 TZ actors are now living past age 100, Marsha Hunt, who will be 102 next month, and Nehemiah Persoff, who turned 100 last month.

I didn't consider dramas because it's just so much easier to see a list on this site for sitcoms in each decade. And I know I'd seen Zoneboy's mention of Daisies at some point. Police Woman is a sharp choice because it was all adults and that seems to make it less likely. I did think about Ladadog being gone from Daisies.

Probably because I'm older, I can't help noticing who's gone now when I watch old shows. I don't necessarily want to, but I do.

Rather macabre I would have said.

Would the entire ZOOM cast from the 1970s qualify?

I have heard rumors that a few cast members have died, but nothing concrete.

But even both of those shows have dead cast members, though I believe only one cast member from each is dead.

I was just thinking about this topic actually because it seems everyday someone dies from a tv show.

I do that too, I'll watch a show and say "hard to believe that person is gone". On the other hand we are getting to the point where many of the very old shows either have no living cast members or one cast member still living (like I Love Lucy and The Honeymooners that both only have one living cast member).

No Cheers doesn't count. Because Nicholas Colasanto (who played the original bartender Ernie "Coach" Pantusso) died at the end of the third season and he was replaced by Woody Harrelson in season 4.

Never would have thought of Don't Eat The Daisies, but it looks like that is a winner by a mile with Love Boat in second place. What would be third place? Probably would have been Facts Of Life until Charlotte Rae died.

The Cosby Show? (3)

No, Family Ties would probably be in third place.

Are we going a little extreme to add pets to the topic. I don't know many pets that live 30-50 years.

No, Joyce Randolph is still alive.

I think Police Woman gets 2nd place. It started in 74, had four regulars who were all adults at the time and they all appeared in every episode. And they're all still alive. Mr. Television got that.
