That was included on today's MeTV episode.
Yet they cut all kinds of other songs in several other episodes.
I'll never understand these music cuts and sometimes not cuts.
Right now Charlie's lodge guys are dancing to "The Merry Month of May".

Dern! Why didn't Me TV put out a bulletin to everyone announcing, "Today we're not cutting out Katie's big number." If Me TV is going to cut out the good music in once cycle then in the next cycle they're going to leave it in they should announce it to everyone, esp. to everyone with a recorder! :D

I thought you must have all of M3S on DVD. I have all of S8 unedited. Maybe we can trade for some Quick Draw.

I do. I had them all before ME TV was invented. But I re-recorded them again from Me TV just to get straight TV signal to DVD versions of the show. When I recorded the show off Nick and TV Land DVD recorders weren't around. I transferred my direct cable to VHS tapes of My3 Sons onto DVD when I made my Sons DVD set. So as good as they looked since they're 1st generation tapes they still had to then be dubbed to DVD to create my set. I thought recording them all over again from ME TV the quality might improve since now they're direct recordings from cable like my tapes back in the day were direct recordings, not dubs. At any rate Me TV ruined that beautiful plan when they decided to hack out the pop songs sung in the show and to replace the original background music in seasons 1 & 2. Cutting out all of Bub's wonderful songs and even Katie's warbling of then current hit songs has trashed any thoughts of improving my Nick/Family channel/TV Land recordings. They're still my preferred set to watch as I hate not hearing the original background music and not enjoying all those Bub & Katie songs. Thanks goodness for the good old days before the hacking of classic TV shows started up.
By the way, when will a cable channel like TCM come along and do for classic TV what TCM does & the OLD AMC USED TO DO for movies. Why is there no commercial free, un-cut version of classic TV show channel on cable TV today? This seems like a prime market to be mined and had. Hopefully some "genius" will be reading this message and come up with this idea and claim it for their own and start up such a dream channel for us classic TV fans. If it can be done for ancient movies of the teens and '20's on TCM why not the much more recent vintage of '50's and '60's TV shows?

My S8 is direct to DVD recorder from around 2006. They are from WHMB here, which aired them as sent by Paramount, with no edits. SP mode on my DVD recorder, with 4 episodes per DVD. There probably could have been 5, but the DVD recorder was fairly new then, and I was still getting used to it.
The first part of S8 doesn't look too great, but they don't on MeTV either. For the later episodes Paramount must have found better sources.
Your last paragraph sounds like the original MeTV before it went national. I would have really liked to have had access to that. I have a newer show from an Ioffer set taken from the old MeTV and they even included commercial bumpers. But as usual for DVD sets from there, the idiots crammed too many episodes per DVD, which ruined the quality at times, and sometimes even led to lip sync problems. So many people selling DVDs do that--and it's not like recordable DVD are that expensive.

Steve's sax solo is also to the tune of "Downtown" on that episode.
From numerous past airings on my local World Harvest channel (WHME-46), I was very used to seeing & hearing Katie doing the song.

Maybe the cutting of the songs has something to do with the copyrights? I noticed on Youtube sometimes when a song is playing it goes mute. I think it is because of copyrights.
OH Nuts!

I remember her singing it and wasn’t impressed. In fairness though, it’s a hard song to cover after Petula knocked it clear out of the park.
Funny that I never cared for Tina Cole’s singing in general, despite her coming from a musical family. But I thought her acting was spot on - she was fantastic as Katie.

Yep, "Downtown" really belongs to Petula Clark.
I agree, her acting was fine, her singing, meh.
As much as I loved Tina's "Katie" (and what girl didn't want to look like her?), I have to agree that her solo singing didn't quite measure up. "Downtown" and the horrible song she sang in "Katie's Career" are good examples. Really enjoyed the King Family shows, though. I do feel that she was just as sweet and kind in real life as "Katie", and everyone fell in love with her.
Tina did dub the songs for Raquel Welch in her 1970 special and her vocals were not all that bad, actually.

I didn't know that about Katie's dubbing Raquel. Maybe it was Raquel who dubbed Katie's singing on My 3 Sons. That's why it was lousy.
Yes, Katie (yes I know her real name) does seem to be as nice in person as she is on the show. I'm also very glad that the King Sisters TV specials, especially their Christmas specials are now available on DVD. They came out a few years ago and I watch them each year at Christmas time. Katie even has lots of nice comments to make in the DVD extras interviews.
