In 1989 a rock singer named Matthew Sweet made his debut with the single Girlfriend which was also the title track of his debut album of the same name and soon became a huge success in rock music. While he continued to have hits in the 90's Matthew Sweet is best known for having hits with his songs on movie and TV soundtracks ranging from Everything Changes from The Babysitters Club to an awesome cover of Walter Egan's 70's hit Magnet And Steel and a unique version of the Flipper theme song from the movie Flipper. Matthew Sweet still is singing today and is still a staple in rock music today
