I remember being a young kid when the Golden Girls went through it's primetime run. And there's two things missing that I wish Lifetime would do. Right before each commercial break NBC would put the little freeze frame of the girls sitting on the couch and it said "The Golden Girls" on the bottom. And the short music would play. I LOVED that and wish lifetime would play that. I'm not sure what it's called, but anybody who watched the original primetime version of the show knows what I'm talking about. And also...I like the instrumental version of the song they used to play during the closing credits. Lifetime doesn't do that, they use their own closing credit thingy.


I guess I'm just a very nostalgic person....*sigh*

I also remember the commercial "interlude" featuring the musical score and the photo of the Girls together. It's funny as I didn't actually think about it until you mentioned it! Yeah, I hate it when Lifetime edits the shows and then talks over the credits to promote some other show of theirs!

It would be so nice to have someone "find" the original series from NBC on tape, and provide it to everyone...

Up here in Canada we only get The Golden Girls on prime and we do get the commericial interlude.
